Unlike the 2022 Census (see the lds-brazil-2022 dataset's third chart), IBGE's 2010 Census religion table published "Igreja de Jesus Cristo dos Santos dos Últimos Dias" as its own real, government-tabulated category — genuine LDS-specific counts, not a mixed bucket. The first chart ranks all 27 states/DF by LDS self-identification as a share of each state's population. The second compares that same self-identified count against the Church's own reported Brazil membership total for 2010, without attributing the roughly 5:1 gap to any single cause. The third ranks the cities (population 50,000+, to avoid small-town noise) with the highest concentration of self-identified Latter-day Saints.
