A cumulative country/year-level dataset rating 198 countries and territories each year from 2007 to 2022 on two 0-10 indexes: the Government Restrictions Index (GRI, 20 measures of how governments restrict religious belief and practice - banning faiths, prohibiting conversion, favoring one religion) and the Social Hostilities Index (SHI, 13 measures of religion-related hostility by private individuals and groups - mob violence, harassment over religious attire, religion-related armed conflict). Unlike this site's other Pew datasets, it carries no per-respondent religion variable, so it has no Latter-day-Saint-specific breakout; Pew's Dec. 2024 report found restrictions held at their highest level yet recorded in 2022, continuing a rise that began around 2010.
