Population estimates for seven broad religious categories - Christians, Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, Jews, Other religions, and the religiously unaffiliated - for 2010 and 2020, across 201 countries and territories covering 99.98% of the world's population. Compiled from more than 2,700 national censuses, demographic surveys, and population registers, not a single fielded survey. There is no Latter-day Saint-specific breakout; LDS people are folded into the broad Christian category, so this dataset's chart tells the global-Christianity backdrop against which the Church's own growth numbers (elsewhere on this site) play out.
